Assessment of nurses' knowledge and practice regarding prevention of deep venous thrombosis among hospitalized patients with COVID-19

Background: Venous thromboembolism is a leading cause of patient morbidity. In hospitalized patients with COVID-19, it common and potentially fatal complication. Knowledge effective practice on VTE prophylaxis are vital for the proper management patients. Inadequate knowledge poor health professionals towards increased patients' complications. The aim this study assess nurses' regarding prevention deep venous thrombosis among COVID-19. Design: A descriptive expletory design. Setting: was conducted at New Al Kasr Einy Teaching Hospital (Cairo University Hospitals. Egypt). Subject: convenient sample included 100 nurses from previously mentioned setting. Tools: Data were collected using two tools; self-administrated questionnaire and, an observational checklist. Results: showed that, less than half studied more 30 years. Majority them female, had Institute nursing, majority experience 6 About three quadrants unsatisfactory level incompetent
